Mission10X was formally launched by on 5th September 2007 – celebrated as “Teachers day” in India. We reach out to students through empowered teachers in Mission10X learning Approach (MxLA)

HISTORY
Azim Premji, Chairman, Wipro Ltd., launched Mission10X on Sep 5th, 2007 amongst a huge gathering of senior academicians which included Vice Chancellors, Deans, Principals, Vice Principals and Directors from various engineering colleges across the country. The first workshop was conducted at the Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT University), Bhubaneswar from 12th November 2007.

Framework

Mission10X is sensitive to the contemporary intellectual developments in the human and social sciences and derives its essence from multiple disciplines, methods and approaches. The learning approach is a layered set of workshops. These workshops enable establishment of links between professional world and the world of learning through effective and enjoyable means of learning. The main objective of these programs is to provide:

o    High Impact Teaching Skills - To help faculty create impact on students by synchronizing their verbal, vocal and visual presentation skills.

o    Innovative Teaching techniques - Facilitating Active learning and Reflective Practice Methods to implement innovation in Engineering classrooms - Eclectic Pedagogical Framework through MxLA

Team

Mission10X is a collaborative effort involving people and institutions from academia and research. Mission10X is backed by a team of heterogeneous members who are exuberant, committed and talented. The Advisory Board constitutes senior academicians who have a collective experience of over 100 years in the field of engineering education.

The advisory board comprises of Prof. Chidananda Gowda former Vice Chancellor Kuvempu University, Prof. A.S Kolaskar former Vice Chancellor Pune University, Prof. R Natarajan former Chairman AICTE and former Director of IIT Madras, Prof. L.K. Maheshwari former Vice Chancellor of BITS Pilani and Prof. N.R. Shetty, President, Indian Society for Technical Education and former Vice Chancellor Bangalore University. The board is providing a impulse to Mission10X's innovative approaches for addressing the employability landscape in India.

Workshops

Mission10X certificate programmes offer unique opportunity to the faculty members of the engineering colleges to go beyond their conventional teaching practices and experiment with innovative learning techniques and styles. They also help them broaden the framework of teaching and enrich their working styles in the institutions of learning. As recognition of the same, Mission10X provides an opportunity to the faculty to acquire the four certificates that contribute towards their professional development:

o    Mission10X Dale Carnegie Certificate in High Impact Teaching Skills

o    Cambridge International Certificate for Teachers and Trainers

o    Mission10X - ISTE Certificate in Teaching and Learning

Spread

Mission10X has successfully extended its footprint in 25 states in India since its inception. During this period 19,746* engineering faculty participated and contributed to the Mission10X Learning Approach.

PHASE - II

Commemorating the third anniversary of Mission10X Wipro Chairman Mr. Azim H Premji and the Union Minister for HRD, Sri Kapil Sibal unveiled the plan for the future. In this road ahead Mission10X will envisage

o    To develop 250 Academic leaders to build institutions of excellence

o   To deploy 2500 Unified Learning Kits to bridge the technology and learning gap
     between industry and academia

o   To empower 25,000 more faculty members in Mission10X Learning Approach
